On occasions I shoot pictures. My friend Sheharazad asked if I could volunteer to shoot AIGA LA‘s portfolio day event… so glad I did. It was being held at Steel Case WorkLife Center in downtown LA (top floor of the AT&T building). Super nice furniture, and the view was awesome. I think I could’ve stared out the window all day.
I’ve been doing it all wrong for years…washing my jeans. Dear jeans, I’m sorry. From this point on I will take better care of you. Cheers.
This video is dope. Job well done Mr. Porter.
I recently wrapped up branding a law firm (I’ll post that project later), and shortly ran across this video. I know what you’re thinking, but they are young, hip, and open to design ideas kind of law firm. I liked that Jason (Pire) talk a little bit about their process with designing the TL2 logo. Great video on workflow. Check out the full article at MVC Agency.
Internet surfing today and this article by Logo Design Love caught my eye. I think every designer, design firm, design organization should produce at least one product. It helps get your ideas out, focused, and it’s another avenue for revenue. Base on the projects I’ve seen from Atipo‘s website, they have an awesome design aesthetic. Almost makes we want to head to Spain. Check out the article from Logo Design Love.
When I was younger and didn’t have a care in the world, skateboarding helped spark my imagination. I would skate around town, and everything because a fictional character in my story. Good times. Check out more of Jonathan’s work on Vimeo.
This is an awesome looking manual. I have done a few manuals, but nothing that looked like this. If I could buy that book… Prints not dead. It’s reserved for special things. Check out the full article on Subtraction.com.
This just looks like a dope movie to watch. I love some photography.

Checking out some music. Adding it to my work playlist.
New Kanye video, nope. A directors reel, not even. This is a video for one of my favorite beers, Guinness. It’s their new Guinness Africa ad. Got me motivated to crank out some work. Read the full article on Stash by Stephen Price.

This is an awesome case study. I was listening to Design Matters, and discovered this agency OCD. I was rolling when I heard the name, and thought it was very clever. They mentioned working on the Girl Scouts logo, so I had to see for myself. OCD did a great job keeping Saul’s (Bass) aesthetics, and updating the look.
I love to see communities working together from around the world and back again. The process of the patterns in the fabric gets the ideas flowing. Enjoy the video and get inspired.
Roaming around on the internet like designers do from times to time, yes it’s part of my processes, I ran across this nice redesign of NBC’s Today logo by Ferro Concrete. I like how they cleaned it up to make it readable at any size. Check out their process and videos they put together. Great work.
